About the Feast of Tabernacles

God declared His people remember and celebrate this Feast of the LORD at its appointed time every year on the 15th day of the 7th month of God’s Biblical Calendar for seven days – with a rest on the first day and on the eighth day (Lev 23).   The Israelites lived in tents in the wilderness for 40 years.  God said, ‘Let them construct a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them” (Exd25:8).  The Tabernacle was to be built, a tent covered with skins, exactly according to the pattern God gave.  God came down from heaven to dwell (live) among men. God dwelt among the people and His glory filled the Tabernacle.  The people saw His glory. What a picture of things to come…

At the Appointed Time, in the fullness of time, God sent forth His Son.  The Messiah was born during the Feast of Tabernacles.  He came down from heaven to earth to dwell among men. God came down from heaven to dwell (live) among men. God became a man, covered with skin, and God dwelt among the people and His glory filled the earth.   He lived (tabernacled) among us.  “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory” (John 1:14).  Rejoice before the LORD your God!!!

And “in the last days…all the nations …will go up to Jerusalem from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to celebrate the Feast o f Tabernacles” (Zach 14:16-21).

The Body of Messiah will experience more of God’s glory with increased light and understanding as she walks in the ways of the LORD, celebrating with Him during the Feast of Tabernacles.  The Feast of Tabernacles is the time when the Book of God was open!  The truth of God is revealed.  As the Body experiences the Feast of Tabernacles, greater truths will be revealed about His soon coming return.  The whole scene prophetically points to the Body of Messiah experiencing the glory of the LORD as never before in this 7th month of God’s Biblical Calendar.

The message has been for His people to “come out of Babylon” and return to His ways.  God wants to restore the hearts and minds and lives of His people to His Biblical Calendar and His ways.  He wants His people to come out of Babylon, to come out of the confusion and corruption of the ways of the world and the traditions of men and to celebrate with Him according to His Appointed Times and to let His glory shine forth and fill the earth!   “Let every mountain (of the traditions of men) and hill be made low: and let the rough ground become a plain…Then the glory of the LORD will be revealed” (Isaiah 40:4-5, author’s comments in parenthesis).
